Efacec Automation concludes SAS in Kenya

During the first quarter of 2016, Efacec Automation has successfully concluded the implementation of the automation system featuring protection and control for Kenya Power. The SAS system was deployed at 132/33 kV Maungu substation.
 
Efacec concludes FAT for 500 kV transmission substation in Georgia
Efacec has successfully concluded the Factory Acceptance Tests and Training for the first Efacec substation automation system, featuring protection and control, for the Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE) Jvari transmission substation (500/220/10 kV).
 
Efacec smart meter M Box certified by EDP
In the scope of Efacec participation in Batalha project, the certification process of Efacec smart meter M Box I100 was successfully concluded, and followed with equipment installation in the field during April that will be continued in May, in the Batalha municipality.
 

Power Solutions strengthens the bonds with EDP Bandeirante and Energisa

Power Solutions, Efacec Automation business partner in Brazil, has undertaken several initiatives for Brazilian energy operators.
In the first quarter of 2016, Power Solutions completed the installation of automation systems at five EDP Bandeirante substations.
In the scope of substation expansions project, Power Solutions has successfully concluded the installation of integrated automation system at eight substations of Energisa.

Efacec Automation provides maintenance services for REN

The Portuguese TSO has awarded Efacec with a three-year contract for technical assistance services. This contract concerns automation systems featuring protection and control of 26 transmission substations spread throughout the national territory.
 
Efacec Automation to deploy a central management system for public lighting in Portugal
Efacec Automation, a smart grid technology leader, secured a new project with the Portuguese distribution system operator, EDP Distribuição, for the supply and installation of a street light central management system, and that will be rolled-out at national level.
 

Efacec welcomes Russian DSO

Efacec welcomed Russian DSO of Moscow (MOESK) at Oporto facilities for a two-day visit at Switchgear and Automation factories.
This visit was coordinated by Efacec’s partners in Russia, Elekom, which is leading Switchgear and Automation activities at this geographic region.

R&D news
SuSTAINABLE R&D project

November last, the 11th SuSTAINABLE project consortium meeting took place in Évora, Portugal. This meeting had the participation of the project officer (PO) from the European Commission, DG Energy for research & innovation. The PO was presented with the project results and several demonstration sites.
The project was successfully completed last March, and the final convention session took place in Lisbon at EDP’s headquarters.
