Power Solutions strengthens the bonds with EDP Bandeirante and Energisa

Power Solutions, Efacec Automation business partner in Brazil, has undertaken several initiatives for Brazilian energy operators.

In the first quarter of 2016, Power Solutions completed the installation of automation systems at five EDP Bandeirante substations (Aparecida, Araretama, Barra do Una, Porto Novo and Urbanova), ordered in the scope of 2015 plan for substations remodelling and expansion.

The technical scope of this contract included automation solution for 138/13.8 kV transformers, 15 kV secondary circuit-breakers, 15 kV feeder-breakers and 15 kV 2.4 MVar capacitor banks, in addition to transformer temperature measurement. These new extended systems are integrated into already existing systems.
 
Last March, Power Solutions conducted a training session of Automation Studio software tool, towards specialists from EDP Bandeirante responsible for substation maintenance services. With this training Power Solutions has provided EDP specialists with a better knowledge and understanding of this innovative software tool, practical exercise on the automation system and protection relays, as well as to endow the team of check lists for assistance in case of emergency.
EDP Bandeirante is an electric power distributor located in São Paulo state (Brazil), with approximately 1,800,000 customers and a network of substations where more than 60% are equipped with Efacec automation, control and protection technology.
 
In the scope of substation expansions project, Power Solutions has successfully concluded the installation of integrated automation system at eight substations of Energisa. The scope of supply included a 34.5 kV transformer bay, installation of line bays at the substation switchyard, as well as integration and adaptation of existing bays in a new system. All the works, including the commissioning, were performed and concluded by the end of 2015.
Also for Energisa, Power Solutions has been awarded with another contract for automation and communication of voltage regulation services. The voltage regulation equipment is already installed at the Energisa distribution grid (of 34.5 and 13.8 kV).
