Efacec Automation, a smart grid technology leader, secured a new project with the Portuguese distribution system operator, EDP Distribuição, for the supply and installation of a street light central management system, and that will be rolled-out at national level.

The system is based on the most recent Efacec eLumen platform, and includes software and hardware supply, which will be installed in the data-centre of the Portuguese DSO.

With this new and innovative system EDP and street light infrastructure operators in Portugal to be able to monitor and execute controls in all street lighting management controllers, installed in approximately 60 k secondary distribution substations at the EDP grid.
