Efacec deploys IEC 61850-based hydro power plant automation system for EDP Produção, Portugal

Efacec Automation is pleased to announce the conclusion of the Ribeiradio hydro power plant automation project for the Portuguese company for power generation - EDP Produção. The new 83 MW Ribeiradio plant is located in the Centre of Portugal at Vouga River.

 
Angolan RNT presents Control Centre with Efacec SCADA system
This December, an official presentation of the upgraded SCADA EMS system took place at the RNT Control Centre. The session was attended by managers and directors from Angolan generation, transmission and distribution companies, namely chief executive officers, general managers, project managers and engineers from PRODEL (generation operator), ENDE (distribution operator), and RNT (transmission operator) - where the SCADA EMS system is installed. The presentation/ demonstration session was conducted by Efacec Automation specialists.
 
Efacec SCADA network system to manage Greek Islands power network
Efacec Automation is supplying Greek Hedno (former Public Power Corporation) with advanced SCADA system for electrical power grid management. The system is based on most recent platform from Efacec, the ScateX+ DMS distribution management system, includes software and hardware for the control centre, and is installed in Athens.
 

Efacec concludes implementation of SAS in Mozambique

Efacec Automation has successfully delivered automation and control solution for Infulene substation for EDM in Mozambique, in the scope of implementation of control, monitoring and protection functionalities at a new 275/66 kV transformer bay.

 

Efacec installs Automation System in mobile substation for Morocco

Efacec Automation has successfully concluded implementation of automation and control solution for 30 kV mobile substation for OCP (Office Chérifien des Phosphates) in Morocco. This mobile substation is also Efacec’s scope of supply, particularly of the mobile substations at the transformers division.

Substation Automation System for 220/60 kV Malvinas substation in Peru

Efacec Automation has been awarded with a contract for the supply of a substation control, protection and monitoring system for the Malvinas transmission substation (220/60/20/10 kV) in Peru. The project includes the supply, configuration and commissioning of a complete substation automation system, integrating Efacec automation products.
 
Protection system for 3.2 MWh storage system for Graciolica Project (Graciosa Azores Island - Portugal)
Efacec Automation will supply a protection system for a new wind and solar power plant installed on Graciosa Island in the Azores Archipelago. This project, designated as Graciolica, is promoted by regional government of Azores, with the goals of increasing the use of renewable energy resources, promoting energy savings and offering alternatives to fuel products.
 
Expansion of SAS at two transmission substations, REN, Portugal
Efacec Automation will deploy CLP 500SAS automation platform at the Portuguese TSO - REN two substations: 60 kV Lavos and 400 kV Armamar - due to a new line bays implementation. These installations include project, configuration, test, supervision and commissioning.
 
Automation platform for distribution substations, Sao Tome and Principe
Efacec Automation is expanding its activities in Africa. Recently, Automation business unit has celebrated a contract for supply of central system for supervision and control of seven distribution substations (with voltage levels of 30 kV, 30/6 kV and 6 kV) for the company of power and water management - EMAE in Sao Tome and Principe.

Latest protection relays series for sub-transmission, distribution and industry
Efacec high priority is a continuous R&D activity, in order to guarantee a competitive and long-term presence in the worldwide market, the company is keeping on investing in development of new products. In this regard, Efacec presents the latest range of protection and control relays: reliable, flexible and powerful IED for applications from power sub-transmission, through distribution to industry segments.

Protection characteristics and algorithms are developed to guarantee stability during load and external faults while preserving dependability of operation for internal faults. Besides main protection functions, such as distance, line differential or transformer differential, a broad set of auxiliary and backup functions, as well as flexible communication scheme logic between different substations are integrated according to system requirements.

Innovation news
Efacec deploys FDIR solution at Portuguese DSO, EDP
Efacec Automation is on the forefront of the technical development for Smart Grids. Last November, Automation R&D team has deployed the Fault Detection Isolation and Restoration solution (FDIR) for Medium Voltage (MV) grid at the Portuguese DSO, locating the controller at Sao Jorge substation in the Batalha municipality.

Efacec implements innovative Distribution Voltage Regulation solution at Edelnor, Peru
In the scope of smart grid R&D activity, Efacec Automation in close cooperation with power system operator in Peru, has developed a project that aims to present a new solution for voltage regulation distributed at MV level.

An autonomous and continuous R&D activity is a high priority for Efacec Automation. Over the last years, Efacec took part in several national and European R&D projects.
Recently two R&D Projects were concluded: SmartC2Net and Monitor BT.
