Efacec Automation has been awarded with a contract for the supply of a substation control, protection and monitoring system for the Malvinas transmission substation (220/60/20/10 kV) in Peru.
The project includes the supply, configuration and commissioning of a complete substation automation system, integrating Efacec automation products, such as UC 500E station server units, BCU 500 bay control units, as well as protection relays from Siemens and SEL. The complete equipment integration will be carried out according to the latest edition of the IEC 61850 standard. The supply further includes communications with remote SCADA according to IEC standard protocols.
This new substation will be located in centre of Lima and aims to answer the registered growth of electrical energy demand in the capital, as well as to unweight and improve the reliability of the HV grids and associated substations. Due to substation location it will be based on gas-insulated switchgear technology. The installed capacity of Malvinas substation will be 2 x 1800 MVA. This project is included in the national investment plan for transmission grids (2013-2017). |
