Efacec Automation completes installation of SCADA system for Angolan TSO
During the first quarter of the current year, Efacec Automation has successfully concluded implementation of the SCADA system upgrade, installed at the transmission system operator RNT Rede Nacional de Transporte de Electricidade (former ENE). This new control centre equips the company with modern, technologically advanced supervision and control infrastructure.

Efacec launched a new overhead switchgear controller in the Series 220 – RCU 220
Part of the Efacec’s 220 IED family for distribution automation, protection and control, the RCU 220 is a recloser/sectionalizer controller that targets protection and control of distribution assets together with conventional RTU-functionality.

Conclusion of the OUTSIDE Project
Efacec Automation is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the OUTSIDE Project (OUTage management System for Improved Distribution networks Efficiency).
Forming part of Efacec’s R&D activity, the resulting product, Efacec’s Outage Management System supports supply restoration in both planned and unplanned supply interruptions.

Workshop on Smart Electric Energy
This workshop was organized by Efacec, with participation of other reputable entities , namely WaveEC/Offshore Renewables, LNEG, NEWES, REN, EASE, EDP Distribuição, EDP Inovação, Inesc Porto, EnergyIn and FEUP.

Workshop  on "InovGrid Suppliers – Opportunities for the National Industry"
This workshop was organized by the Smart Grid row of EnergyIn, focusing on the outcome of the InovGrid project, as well as on the subsequent tasks related to this Smart Grids project. In addition to Efacec, several reputable entities have participated, namely EDP Distribuição, Janz/Contar, CGI/Logica, Arquiled and Siemens.

ENERGEIA Seminar on "Dispersed Renewable Generation: Challenges, Current Developments and Technology Trends"
This seminar was organized by UAlg, in the scope of the ENERGEIA (Energy Enterprise Generation in the MED Area) project (www.energeia-med.eu). Besides Efacec, other reputable entities have participated, namely the Algarve’s Regional Agency for Energy and Environment, the Engineering Academic Institute of the Algarve’s University, Bowen Iberia and the University of Malaga.

International training
Last April, Efacec Automation organized at its facilities in Portugal, an international training targeted to Efacec worldwide staff and business partners.
The four-day training session counted with the presence of colleagues from different international offices and business associates, namely from Czech Republic, Romania, Peru and Portugal.
