During the first quarter of the current year, Efacec Automation has successfully concluded implementation of the SCADA system upgrade, installed at the transmission system operator RNT Rede Nacional de Transporte de Electricidade (former ENE). This new control centre equips the company with modern, technologically advanced supervision and control infrastructure.
The supplied SCADA system is based on , Efacec’s most recent platform for network management. The ScateX+ provides high performance solutions for a secure and efficient management of the system, and combines conventional SCADA functions with advanced power applications. Its open platform enables integration with the energy market, asset management systems and other external components.
In order to provide an optimized operational management, the system includes SCADA functions, such as telemetry and controls acquisition, historical information, trend recording, user interface, self-supervision, areas of responsibility, synchronization, among others.
With this upgrade, the system integrates substations, with voltage levels of 60 kV and 220 kV), including power station (hydro and thermal), spread throughout the north and central region of Angola. From now on, it’s possible to perform the supervision and remote control of the power transmission network from the control centre in Camama, Luanda.
This project represents to Efacec an acknowledgement of its products and solutions by Angolan TSO, as well as of the skills and capabilities of its professionals. Both companies have been working together for the last several years, not only with SCADA, but also in the scope of substation automation systems; Efacec has supplied several substations within Angola territory. |
