Efacec Automation, as a trusted supplier of substations automation solutions, was selected to deliver the CLP 500SAS automation platform for a completely new system for the Riba d’Ave substation (400/150/60 kV), situated at the north region of Portugal.

The scope of this supply comprises the system based on CLP 500SAS platform, technology fully developed by Efacec. This platform integrates digital IEDs from Efacec Series 500, namely BCU 500 for bays control and management, UC 500 as station server and communication gateway, HMI 500 for user interface, TPU 420 for transformer voltage control, and protection relays from third parties.

The CLP 500SAS platform combines unified Efacec relays, controllers and HMI with IEC 61850 and IEC 61113-3 open systems integration, from communications and scheme programming to engineering and management. It enables multiple field-proven system architectures together with standard function implementations and database, HMI or cabinet designs.

With this project REN confirms, ones again, preference in Efacec services, showing recognition and confidence placed in our substation automation products and solutions.
