Efacec confirmed as main supplier of the EDP’s Smart Grid program
Efacec Automation, smart grids technology leader, secured an order from EDP Distribuição for the supply, configuration, installation and commissioning of more than 2.000 distribution transformer controllers (DTC) based on G Smart controllers and more than 700 fault detectors based on G Fault units.
Distribution transformer control and metering aggregator units are being installed in secondary substations (MV/LV), covering all the Portuguese territory, with more than 1.500 units of the G Smart batch already installed and in operation. [+ info ]
       
 
Important orders

Efacec selected to deliver the SAS for Algerian electric power substation
Efacec Automation has been selected to deliver a new CLP 500SAS automation platform for the Algerian electric power company CEEG, a SONELGAZ branch, to be installed at the Chebli 30 kV substation. Efacec Automation was selected as the sole supplier for the substation automation solution by EIP Group, the main contractor. [+ info]

Efacec to supply automation systems for Brazilian EDP Bandeirante
Early this year, Efacec’s Automation business unit in Brazil obtained an important order for the supply of control and protection system for three EDP Bandeirante substations (Parque Industrial, Barreiro and Porto Novo).
The proposed solution is based on CLP 500 platform that integrates distribution functions and enables remote system operation from the system operation center (COS). [+ info]

 
Deliveries and project implementations

Efacec Automation implements automation systems for EDP Distribuição
Efacec Automation in the scope of protection and telecontrol systems for primary distribution substations, implemented systems based on CLP 500SAS platform in EDP's Anaia and Inha substations. As for remote terminal units, a platform based on CLP 500RTU was installed at the Pinhão substation. [+ info]

The transport segment is an important business activity for Efacec Automation. Metros and railways require specific solutions for an optimized management of the railway system. Recently, Efacec Automation concluded a set of installations comprising automation systems for traction substations and technical supervision for infrastructure, at both national and international level. Automation Studio from Efacec certified by Microsoft Partner Network
Efacec Automation is satisfied to announce that has successfully concluded the certification process from Microsoft, regarding the Automation Studio software, obtaining Gold Application Development competence. [+ info]

 
R&D projects

The SmartC2Net project – actions in progress
In the scope of undergoing R&D activity, Efacec Automation is strongly involved in European FP7 projects. The SmartC2Net project is a good example.
This project aims to develop and implement robust solutions that enable Smart Grid operation on top of heterogeneous off-the-shelf communication infrastructures with varying properties. [+ info]
