Efacec Automation selected to deliver CLP 500SAS for Algerian electric power substation

Efacec Automation has been selected to deliver a new CLP 500SAS automation platform for the Algerian electric power company CEEG, a SONELGAZ branch, to be installed at the Chebli 30 kV substation. Efacec Automation was selected as the sole supplier for the substation automation solution by EIP Group, the main contractor.

The CLP 500SAS system to be installed at the Chebli substations integrates Efacec’s redundant UC 500E station server, local HMI station, BCU 500 digital controllers, as well as protection relays from TPU 420 series. At the substation level, the IEC 61850 standard will be implemented for seamless equipment communication and integration. The supply further includes the remote HMI to be installed at the regional distribution center, the communications with this remote SCADA will be carried out through the IEC 60870-5-101 protocol.

The supply includes design, configuration, tests and commissioning of substation automation system, control and protection panels and all associated system integration works. Future system operators will receive a professional and specialized training managed by Efacec’s highly qualified and certified engineering teams.

The CLP 500SAS platform combines the unified Efacec relay, controller and HMI platform with IEC 61850 and IEC 61131-3 open systems integration from communications and scheme programming to engineering and management. With this platform customers benefit in full confidence from the power and flexibility of advanced substation automation, protection and control together with straightforward engineering and management throughout the system lifecycle.

This project is a high priority to us, as demonstrates a vote of reliance on our solutions and products by SONELGAZ. Over the last years, Efacec Automation has registered successful cooperation with companies at the Algerian market in the scope of substation automation systems, having more than 30 concluded and ongoing projects.
