Efacec Automation, smart grids technology leader, secured an order from EDP Distribuição for the supply, configuration, installation and commissioning of more than 2.000 distribution transformer controllers (DTC) based on G Smart controllers and more than 700 fault detectors based on G Fault units. Distribution transformer control and metering aggregator units are being installed in secondary substations (MV/LV), covering all the Portuguese territory, with more than 1.500 units of the G Smart batch already installed and in operation.

With 75% confirmed share of the PLC DTC awarded market in Portugal, Efacec Automation is the leading supplier of the Portuguese distribution utility.

For more efficient configuration and commissioning of all equipment, Efacec developed a new software application – view4grid – a web interface that reduces commissioning times of each DTC fivefold, in addition to excluding typical human error factors from the process.
