As for the substations Parque Industrial and Barreiro that were submitted to the modernization and expansion process, Efacec is providing protection systems for the 88 kV transmission lines, 40/60 MVA power transformers and for 15 kV feeders. The scope of supply further includes replacement of existing station server.

As for the Porto Novo new substation, Efacec is supplying protection and control systems for the 88 kV transmission line, 12/15 MVA power transformer and two 15 kV feeders.

Systems will include protection relays from the 420 family according to the IEC 61850 standard, UC 500 hot-standby platform that provides all functions with IEC 61131-3 user programmability, allowing total trust of automation schemes. The local communication system includes real-time communication Ethernet bus, including IEC 61850 and DNP 3.0.
