EDP orders smart grids solution from Efacec
Efacec Automation has received an order from EDP, the Portuguese Distribution Operator, for the supply of a smart street lighting management solution.

 

Multiple orders from Latin America market, through Efacec branch in Brazil
During the third quarter, Automation business unit of Efacec do Brasil received a set of important orders at the transmission and distribution segments, and it has also registered the first order for electric vehicles (EV) charging infrastructure management.

 

Efacec ACS to Deliver PRISM SCADA System to Moon Lake Electric Association
Efacec ACS, a leading provider of smart grid solutions to the global electric power industry, has been selected to deliver a new PRISM SCADA system to Moon Lake Electric Association, Inc., a cooperative utility serving northeastern Utah and northwestern Colorado.

Deliveries and project implementations

During the third quarter of 2012 Efacec implemented several projects in diverse areas of activity, from power networks management to substation automation systems.

Among all installed systems, we highlight the following:
- Condition monitoring solutions for several MV/LV substations of the Portuguese DSO,
- Automation systems and remote terminal units for several distribution substations of the Portuguese DSO,
- Automation system featuring protection and control, for a transmission substation of the Portuguese TSO,
- Automation systems for two substations of Kenyan company KPLC,
- Automation systems featuring protection and control, for 10 substations of Venezuelan company Corpoelec,
- 600th RTU upgrade with delivery to Seattle City Light, US.

Efacec ACS hosted its 35th annual User Conference from September 30 to October 4 at the Atlanta Marriott Gwinnett Place in Duluth, Georgia.

What's new in products and technology

Efacec launched a new series of protection relays TPU 220

Efacec Automation has recently launched a new series of protection devices named TPU 220, for line/feeder protection or other applications in HV/MV systems. These compact relays are a cost-effective solution for power system protection while offering additional control, measurement and recording functions in one single device, for easy and reliable power system management. They can be used standalone or system integrated, as main protection or as backup in more complex schemes.

R&D - EnAware Project

Efacec is proud to announce the EnAware R&D project, which stands for Energy Awareness. The project was granted with funds by Portuguese for National Strategic Reference Framework that constitutes the framing for the application of the Community’s policy for economic and social cohesion in Portugal for the 2007-2013 period.

Energy Awareness is an R&D Project, ranging from Demand Side Management/Demand Response to Smart Metering, domestic Intelligent Electronic Devices and Home Automation.
