Metering Billing/CRM, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Efacec Automation was present at the 2012 edition of METERING EUROPE held in Amsterdam – The Netherlands, between 9th and 11th of October, in the RAI Convention Centre.

The METERING EUROPE show is a conference and technical exhibition for smart grids. It counted with participation of over 250 companies, representing utilities, energy regulators, government agencies, suppliers, purchases, among others. The 2012 edition attended over 300 exhibitors from smart grids sector, and received over 6700 visitors.

During the exhibition, we showcased the latest products and solutions for smart grids and smart metering applications, namely our now extended smart meter family.

The show was a definite success, and we enjoyed the opportunity to meet utility engineers, managers and consultants from across the industry.

2012 Rural Smart Grid Summit, US

Efacec ACS was one of 50 select technology vendors participating in the 2012 Rural Smart Grid Summit held between 28th and 11th of October in San Diego, US.

The RSGS is an annual event that brings together executives from over 100 of the top electrical cooperatives throughout the US for two days of informative sessions focused on Smart Grid technology and solutions.

The unique format allows vendors to give 25 minute presentations on their solutions to small groups of executives in multiple sessions over two days. Efacec ACS presented on integrated SCADA/DMS/OMS, Centrix Feeder Automation and RTU upgrades.

At the conclusion of the event, the Efacec ACS presentation was voted as one of the top three by the utility attendees.


35th Annual User Conference in Atlanta, US

Efacec ACS hosted its 35th annual User Conference from September 30 to October 4 at the Atlanta Marriott Gwinnett Place in Duluth, Georgia.

Georgia Power’s VP of Distribution, Leslie Sibert, presented the keynote address Monday morning. Management, IT and operations personnel from more than 50 customer utilities attended the event, which included detailed case studies from six utilities on a variety of Efacec ACS solution deployments.

Attendees learned of new Efacec ACS products, participated in a panel discussion on smart grid investing in the post-ARRA era, and attended a vendor showcase with Efacec ACS value-added partners. Customers also took training classes on SCADA security, DMS/OMS operations, upgrading remote terminal units, and other practical topics designed to help them get the most out of their systems.

The 2013 User Council officers were also elected. Another key portion of the event was the user forum, in which system users discussed desired product enhancements and shared their ideas directly with Efacec ACS developers and top management.
