In the scope of R&D activity, Efacec organized a presentation session of the most recently established joint innovation projects with the Portuguese DSO, EDP Distribuição. The session took place in Lisbon, on October 25th, and was honoured with the presence of the EDP Distribuição CEO, Mr. João Torres, Efacec CEO, Mr. Angelo Ramalho, division managers, R&D engineers and decision makers of both companies.

The presentations were dedicated to the most recent R&D projects, introduced in the scope of the Portugal 2020 European funding programme, and are ADMS4LV, DSGrid and NEXTSTEP.
The Efacec-led ADMS4LV project aims to develop an advanced distribution management system for active management of LV Grids by adopting the latest technologies available. The project results will be generated and verified at the pilot lab that will be established at the DSO grid.
The DSGrid project aims to introduce Efacec to the next generation of digital VHV/HV/MV substation automation technology, to adapt current PAC product portfolio and engineering skills to new needs, to establish the ground base for a new generation of products and services. The project is led by Efacec Automation, in cooperation with EDP Distribuição and two R&D Institutions.
The NEXTSTEP project aims to develop a new, modern and more efficient solution for the next generation compact substations, by use of compact, economic, modular and distributed solutions. Additionally, the project aims to improve the compact substations’ design, sound impact, biodiversity, and overall safety. This project is led by Efacec, in cooperation with four other R&D institutions and companies, including EDP Distribuição.
