Efacec in the scope the activity with MTGrid (Multi Technology Communication Infrastructure for the Smart Grid), and with cooperation of the Portuguese R&D institution INESC TEC from Oporto, has developed a wire-less communication solution that allows remote control and supervision of smart meters.

Moreover, this solution comprehends a bidirectional communications, like this a grid operator is able to access the information on the meter, and also to deploy files on the device.

Efacec expects that this new development will improve its competitive capabilities in the field of smart meters, both at the national and international markets.

Moreover, in May, during an open day at INESC, this solution was showcased to open academic audience.
