Multiple orders from Latin America, through Efacec branch in Brazil

EDP Energest, Brazil
Last May, Efacec Automation unit in Brazil received an important order to provide maintenance services for EDP Energest Generation Operations Centre.
The scope of engineering services includes preventive and corrective maintenance on SCATE X system, already in operation at the Generation Operations Centre, as well as CLP 500 platform that will be deployed in Disaster Recovery Center located in UHE Mascarenhas, in the Espirito Santo State.

Companhia Energética de Alagoas (CEAL), Brazil
In last March, Efacec Automation unit in Brazil won a contract (as a public competition) to provide an automation system for the power distribution utility CEAL in Alagoas, which is currently expanding its distribution network.
The scope of supply includes a new automation system for Marechal Deodoro substation, to be completed yet in 2014. The offered solution is based on Efacec automation platform CLP 500SAS and will integrate protection relays from SEL via IEC 61850 communication standard. This substation is composed by three 69 kV lines, one 69/13.8 kV transformer and four 13.8 kV feeders.
The contract also includes training and engineering services, where Efacec’s highly skilled professionals will offer technical operators’ team the required support.

Pinwheels Paracaru (Enpecel), Brazil
Efacec Automation was selected to provide a new automation and control system for the elevating substation of Pinwheels Paracuru wind farm, in the Ceará State. This wind farm, with 30 MW of installed power, is composed by 15 wind turbines and four 23 kV feed lines, where the protection will be accomplished by Efacec’s 420 Series IEDs; for the transformer bay the BCU 500 will be installed and for the transformer differential protection, SEL protection relays will be used. All system components will be integrated via IEC 61850 communication standard, and all data will be concentrated at the station server unit UC 500. The substation system will report directly to the control center of CHESF (Companhia Hidroelétrica do São Francisco).

COELCE, Brazil
As a reliable supplier, Efacec Automation was selected by COELCE to provide an automation system, featuring protection and control, for its distribution substations "07", located in the Ceará State.
The solution that will be provided is based on the CLP 500SAS platform, and will integrate automation products from Efacec, namely protection relays from the 420 Series IEDs, stations server units UC 500 and user interface HMI 500.
Both companies have been working together throughout the years, which results in more than 60 substations equipped with our solutions.
