Efacec Automation delivers automation systems for Angolan ENE

Efacec Automation has successfully concluded the implementation of two automation systems, featuring protection and control for ENE, Angolan national company for electricity. Those installations were performed at 220/60 kV Belém do Dango and 220/60/30/15 kV Kuito substations.

The solutions are based on the CLP 500SAS platform, integrating Efacec fanless station server (UC 500), bay control units (BCU 500), Efacec protection units (TPU 420) and third party protections. Those solutions include the latest IEC 61850 standard, enabling devices with high precision communication capabilities through the substation Ethernet LAN, as well as high precision synchronization through GPS signal.

Efacec substation automation platform enables multiple field-proven system architectures regarding protection and control integration, multi-vendor integration, communication network architectures, use of hardwired or GOOSE logic and redundancy options, together with standard function implementations and database, HMI or cabinet designs.

Concluding this project represents the strengthening of Efacec’s position at Angolan market. The company is satisfied with the trust of Angolan utilities in its products, solutions and engineer competences, demonstrated by the award of new projects. Furthermore, Efacec Automation is upgrading the SCADA/EMS system currently installed in the ENE’s control center.
