What's new in products and technology

Efacec ACS has announced the complete new lineup of NTX automation controllers, suitable for applications ranging from high-capacity substation RTU to pole-top switch control.

Replacing the Convex series products, all new products in the NTX lineup features client-server architecture built around multiple high-performance ARM9E 32–bit RISC microprocessors. The processors are each programmed to support specific functions, and are linked together within the controller using a peer-to-peer network.
New models include the NTX-200, NTX-220, NTX-240 and NTX-260 - with varying expansion capabilities and each featuring a card-file design for ease of expansion and enhanced availability.
Other common features among the new models include:

Embedded Linux operating system (not user accessible)

DNP3 and legacy protocol support

Extended temperature range of -10° to +70°C (14°F to 158°F)

Multiple Virtual RTUTM database mapping

Field configurable; remotely configurable via an Ethernet WAN/LAN

Sequence-of-events reporting with 1ms resolution

Built-in IRIG-B (unmodulated) Time Code Reader and GPS time reference (NMEA 0183) interface (optional external satellite clock/antenna required) or NTP time synchronization supported via the Ethernet Network

Optional IEC 611131- & 61499 compliant NTU Logic PLC that executes user-defined control and/or calculation algorithms
