Efacec Automation was selected by Angolan electricity distribution public company as preferred supplier of SCADA system for its control center. The new control center will enable company with modern, technologically advanced supervision and control infrastructure for Luanda region.

The first stage of this contract comprises the SCADA system for EDEL’s control center, as well as integration of three substations already operating. In the future, all existing and new substations shall be gradually integrated in SCADA system; furthermore advanced DMS functions shall be implemented, in order to improve operation and management of the distribution network in the metropolitan region of Luanda.

Efacec Automation is implementing the most recent technological solutions endowing EDEL with capacity to provide better quality service to its customers. Therefore a SCADA/DMS ScateX+ platform is being supplied.

Currently, the factory acceptance test of the system were successfully concluded. They were performed at Automation facilities in Portugal, with close participation of EDEL’s engineers. The system submitted to the test has demonstrated complete conformance with the customer’s rigorous requirements.

This project is a high priority to Efacec Automation, and demonstrates a vote of reliance on our solutions and products by EDEL. This vote is shown in new contracts for supply of new automation systems, namely two new substations: Encib Camama and Cacuaco Sequele, both 60/15 kV.
