DistribuTECH 2013 Conference & Exhibition – San Diego, US

Efacec ACS was again present at DistribuTECH 2013, which took place in San Diego, CA from January 29-31. DistribuTECH is the North American utility industry’s leading Smart Grid exposition. The conference was attended by more than 8,000 utility industry professionals from 48 countries. We greatly appreciate the many customers and prospects who visited the booth to learn more about our many Smart Grid solutions.

Efacec’s 140 m2 booth included demonstrations of Centrix feeder and distribution automation, PRISM Integrated SCADA/DMS/OMS, and substation automation solutions featuring the CLP 500. Also displayed were other Efacec USA solutions including the IATS load break switch and the QC45/50 EV fast charger.

During the conference, Michael Pesin from Efacec ACS client Seattle City Light presented a paper entitled “Upgrading Legacy RTUs: A Cost-saving Approach to Smart Grid Substations”. The presentation described the utility’s use of Efacec ACS Connex technology to upgrade older RTUs from another vendor, resulting in significant cost savings over total replacement of the units. Efacec ACS has developed upgrades to more than 25 different RTU models from other vendors, and has delivered more than 600 upgrades.
