Efacec SCADA network manager to manage Greek power network

Efacec Automation is supplying Greek Hedno (former Public Power Corporation) with advanced SCADA system for electrical power grid management. The system is based on most recent platform from Efacec, the ScateX+ DMS distribution management system, includes software and hardware for the control centre, and is installed in Athens. From this control centre, the network operators are able to monitor and act over the state of all major equipment of the electric distribution grid.

Presently, Efacec has concluded the commissioning of the SCADA and is proceeding with the integration of remote terminal units (RTU) in the system, accordingly to the contract. Like this, the electrical grid in the region of Athens is under Efacec’s network manager supervision and control. The scope of the supply includes in total a configuration and installation of more than one hundred RTU, for distribution substations spread along the network, allowing communication between the control centre and the field.

In parallel to the Athens control centre, Efacec Automation is working on development of other project that will manage the electric power distribution grid of several Greek Islands. This control centre will integrate over 20 operator workstations spread throughout the Islands and more than 80 RTU for distribution substations and power plants.

Over 30 years of activity in the SCADA systems, Efacec Automation has installed and commissioned, in more than 50 different countries in five continents, over 150 SCADA for the control centres, and more than 7 000 remote terminal units for similar installations.
