In this scope we present the view4grid, an engineering tool for configuration and commissioning of smart automation controllers from Efacec, the G Smart units. Likewise, the smart meters, such as M Box from Efacec, whenever concentrated on the G Smart, can be configured via this tool.

The view4grid is a software application that performs a set of operations, like data extraction, setting definition and action execution (such as device testing, geographical location, properties check, etc.) over smart controllers that are compatible with the option models of the software. With the use of the web applications it can be visualized in any web browser on computer or a smartphone application, at any time and place.

With one tool it’s possible to select several configurations settings and deploy over number of controllers, achieving results according to the desired final status, and providing an efficient and optimized system operation.

This tool is already being applied in two ongoing smart grid projects in Portugal promoted by the Portuguese DSO. The first project concerns development of a commissioning tool for a set of two thousands Efacec’s G Smart units that are being installed all over the Portuguese territory, and will provide an intelligent automation of the energy distribution network. The other one concerns the pilot project of Batalha, and aims to provide an innovative automation solution for the LV Batalha network.
