Efacec Automation has received an order from the SBS Transit Ltd (Singapore) for the supply of a new hardware and upgrade of SCATE X software installed at the light railway network operated by the Land Transport Authority.

The Singapore light railway network is composed by two types of systems, the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), connecting different parts of the country and providing its customers with safe and comfortable public transport. Two lines of the LRT system are operating with Efacec Automation SCADA System, namely the Punggol line (that covers Punggol 21 New Town), and the Sengkang line (that covers Sengkang New Town).

The current upgrade aims to improve reliability and performance of the central system, and consequently to provide a better quality of service to the customers. This goal will be achieved with an upgrade of SCADA software for operation systems and database servers, as well as with a supply of new hardware for servers, cabinets, workstations, serial ports.

With upgraded network management platform from Efacec, the LRT operator will be able to manage and supervise the power network and associated technical infrastructures in one integrated platform that features security, openness and flexibility.
