Efacec Automation has deployed the first phase of the project for the datacenter of the Portuguese telecommunication operator, Portugal Telecom. This project consisted in the supply of the automation and protection system for 60/15 kV substation that will supply the power to the datacenter infrastructures.

The datacenter represents the latest generation technologies in terms of information technology, cloud computing and storage capability, what leverages Portugal to a worldwide level as efficient and innovative provider. It‘s located in Covilhã, Castelo Branco district, and contributes actively for the regional development.

The deployed system is based on the innovative CLP 500SAS platform that combines the unified Efacec relays, controllers and HMI with IEC 61850 and IEC 61113-3 open systems integration, from communications and scheme programming to engineering and management. It enables multiple field-proven system architectures together with standard function implementations and database, HMI or cabinet designs.
